How Sculptra works
Sculptra is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a material that has been used in medicine for decades. Injected into the face, it acts as a scaffold your body responds to by producing new collagen of its own.
That is why nothing dramatic happens on the day. Over the following weeks the collagen builds, the hollows soften, and the structure comes back. Because it is your own tissue rather than a gel, the result reads as your face in better condition rather than a face that has had something put into it.
Most people need two to four sessions, six to eight weeks apart, with the full result around six to eight weeks after the last one. It can hold for up to two years.

What to expect

All new clients start with a free consultation. Becci will assess your face, take a full medical history, and be honest about whether Sculptra is the right approach. It suits volume loss and slackening rather than a specific line or lip, and she will say so if something else fits better.
Treatment
Sculptra is injected across the areas being treated, and the product is worked evenly through the tissue. It is a considered, unhurried treatment rather than a quick appointment.
The Massage
This one is on you, and it matters. Massage the treated areas five minutes at a time, five times a day, for five days. It keeps the product evenly distributed and it is the single biggest thing separating a good Sculptra result from a lumpy one. Becci will show you exactly how before you leave.
Build & Review
Sessions are spaced six to eight weeks apart, and most people need between two and four. The full result appears around six to eight weeks after the final session, once the collagen has built, and holds for up to two years.

How much does Sculptra cost?
Sculptra is £400 a vial at The Face Lab until 31 December 2026, after which the price rises to £450. A course of 3 is £1,100, which works out at £367 a vial and is the better value whichever price is running. Most people need two to four vials, so Becci will tell you at your free consultation what your plan is likely to cost before you commit to anything. Prices are the same at both studios and interest-free finance is available on courses.
Where can I get Sculptra near me?
The Face Lab has two private studios. The Lytham St Annes studio (FY8 1BQ) is convenient for St Annes, Blackpool, Kirkham, Preston and the wider Fylde Coast. The Leigh studio (WN7 2EH) is convenient for Wigan, Bolton, Warrington and Greater Manchester. Both are treated by Becci personally, and prices are the same at each.
Is Sculptra a filler?
No, and the difference matters. A hyaluronic acid filler adds volume the moment it goes in, and you see the result the same day. Sculptra is poly-L-lactic acid, a collagen stimulator. It works by prompting your own body to build new collagen over the following weeks, so the volume you end up with is your own tissue. If you want an immediate change, filler is the honest answer and Becci will say so.
How many sessions will I need?
Most people need between two and four sessions, spaced six to eight weeks apart. How many depends on how much volume has been lost, and Becci will map the plan out with you at your consultation rather than committing you to a number on day one.
When will I see the results?
Not straight away, and that is the point. There is often a little swelling on the day which settles within a few days, and the real change builds gradually as collagen forms. The full result appears around six to eight weeks after your final session. Judging it before then is judging it too early.

Who is not suitable for Sculptra?
It is not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and certain medical conditions and medications rule it out. It also is not used in the lips. Becci takes a full medical history at your free consultation and will tell you plainly if it is not right for you.
Who will be treating me?
Becci, every time. She is an NMC registered nurse with over six years of clinical experience, a member of the ACE Group for aesthetic complications, and fully insured. There are no other practitioners at The Face Lab and your treatment is never handed to anyone else.
